Leon Clarke proved to be the hero as he scored twice while Sheffield United held off a Sheffield Wednesday fightback to win an enthralling Steel City derby that lived up to its billing. The Blades got off to a terrific start, with John Fleck smashing home a free-kick after two minutes and Clarke doubled the lead after a punt forward by Enda Stevens. Gary Hooper gave the Owls a chance when he scored just before the break. Substitute Lucas Joao levelled for Wednesday after the break with a composed finish but barely a minute had been played before Mark Duffy thundered home an unstoppable drive 10 minutes before Clarke tapped in to seal a famous victory for United. The result was Sheffield United's first win over their city rivals since September 2009 and moved them up to fourth in the Championship table.
