Lewis Hamilton India "Poor Place" Comment: My Passionate Rant - Formula One World Champion, Lewis Hamilton, is embroiled in controversy after comments that he made in a recent interview with BBC Sport in which he described India as a “poor place”.

The world champion said: "I've been to India before to a race which was strange because India was such a poor place yet we had this massive, beautiful grand prix track made in the middle of nowhere. I felt very conflicted when I went to that grand prix."

The comments have since prompted a torrent of criticism from Indian fans and media against Hamilton.

In a subsequent post on his Instagram and Twitter accounts, Hamilton clarified his initial India “poor place” remark.

In this video, I defend Hamilton by delivering a brutally honest take on why I feel this has been blown out of proportion by the Indian public and media.
