My mom and dad recently experienced the deliciousness of a cauliflower steak. I felt obliged to show them just how simple it is to make at home--and together, we show you via this video just how easy it is to make. 

(Gotta love a good parent cameo in a YouTube video!)

All you need is one head of cauliflower, olive oil (about 1/4 cup), salt and pepper. That's the essence of it--searing the cauliflower then roasting it. It's so simple, and there are many variations to make it more delicious: adding spices, soy sauce, cheese, etc. 

In this video, we decided to roast it with balsamic vinegar and parmesan cheese for the last 5 minutes. It was delicious--but there are so many fun ways to experiment with this dish.

It's a healthy, awesome vegetarian dish that's perfect for the post-Thanksgiving dinner table.

P.S. Am I not the exact combination of my parents? It's like a 50/50 split of whether I look more like mom or dad. It's also a 50/50 split of personality...it's freaky! (In a great way!)
